This citrine sphere is a substantial specimen, cut and polished from natural citrine quartz. Citrine owes its warm pale butter yellow color to trace iron within the quartz crystal lattice, occasionally shifted by natural irradiation during formation. Unlike much of the citrine sold commercially, this piece is natural citrine carrying the softer, more varied color range and internal character that heat treatment tends to erase.
Inside, delicate veils of internal healing fractures catch the light and break it into rainbows — soft planes of color suspended within the stone rather than scattered flashes on the surface. Turn it slowly and these veils shift, revealing color at different depths as the light finds new angles through the quartz.
