Natural Citrine Clusters from The Congo
Dimensions: See below description for each cluster
Material: Natural Citrine
Finish: Raw specimen
Origin: Lwena, Katanga, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Pale yellow at the center, softening to a creamy white where the crystals meet their base: these clusters hold the light like the early morning sun. Around each main point, smaller crystals have grown in a ring, the way wax pools and drips down the side of a burning candle. One cluster holds a few large flames, and the other holds a gathering of slender ones.
Citrine is the yellow variety of quartz, its color coming from trace iron within the crystal, and the color here is natural and untreated. Quartz grows slowly from silica-rich fluids moving through cavities underground, and when smaller points sprout around a larger one, collectors call the result candle quartz. These clusters were gathered at Lwena, in the Katanga region of southeastern Congo, a locality known among collectors for limited production of naturally colored Citrine.
Each pocket grew under its own conditions, so the number of points, the way they blend together, and the depth of yellow differ from cluster to cluster.
Citrine can support confidence, optimism, and mental clarity, and it is often connected with the solar plexus chakra. Place one where you plan your day or begin your work as a reminder of your own steady light.
Take home the glow that suits your space.
Citrine Candle Cluster, Large Points (Photos #1-12)
Dimensions: 5.5 x 4 x 3.75 inches | Weight: 2.6 lbs
Distinct clear points of Citrine, each one collared by smaller crystals, make up this stunning cluster. The color moves from soft straw yellow at the tips to pale cream near the matrix, and the glassy faces flash as you turn the cluster in the light. The proportions are generous, and the whole piece feels steady and grounded.
Its weight and bold lines make it a natural centerpiece for a desk, shelf, or altar.
Citrine Candle Cluster, Fine Points (Photos #13-23)
Dimensions: 5.75 x 4.5 x 3 inches | Weight: 2.5 lbs
Slender yellow points fill the dips and ridges across this cluster, climbing to a taller crest around a softly glowing hollow at the center. Nearly every point wears its own ring of tiny crystals, giving the surface the appearance of a field of small flames, a deeper lemony yellow in the depths and pale and clear at the tips.
With so many points to follow, it’s a piece to pick up and turn, finding something new from each angle.
